Font-Size Metrics

Legibility of Verdana font at smaller font-sizes — browser 'standards-compliance' mode (not legacy 'quirks' mode).

The text-sizes given below are only relevant when:

  • browser's page-zoom is 100% (IE7, Opera),
  • browser's text-size (view-menu) is medium, 100% (IE6, FF),
  • browser's font-sizes (underlying) are set at default (FF, Opera),
  • browser's minimum font-size is not in effect,
  • OS font DPI is set to 100% (typically 96DPI for WinXP).

This text is reduced but should be legible. [font-size:85%]
